Site – The Purdy property includes approximately 7 acres along the Hominy Branch in the city of Columbia, and includes karst (limestone) features, floodplain, and important riparian corridor in the Hinkson Creek watershed, as well as open space along the Hominy Branch Trail.  The site is residential and private.

History – Vivian C. Purdy sought to place a conservation easement on her family home, to preserve its important natural features, but passed away before it could be completed.  Her heirs completed the donation, ensuring that there would always be a beautiful, open space dedicated to her memory.
