Site – the Birch Cove Farm property includes roughly 85 acres of pasture land along Stinson Creek in Callaway County, used primarily for the raising of sheep!  This property protects open space and important agricultural soils, and buffers Stinson Creek, an important waterway in the area.

History – David Coplen and his wife, Carol Fulkerson, have owned the Birch Cove Farm property for nearly three decades.  When they purchased the first piece of it in the 1980s, it showed its history of strip mining in the worst way.  Since that time, they have used rotational grazing practices and strategic use of native grass feeding to heal the soil throughout the property, restoring its productivity and improving its hydrology along a key waterway.
