Annie’s Breads
Meet the producer
Annie’s Breads has been a Columbia area commodity for almost twenty years. Originally based in Rocheport, Annie’s Breads’ bakery can now be found within the Dandylion Café in downtown Ashland. With an affinity for the ancient art of breadmaking, Matthew Glover bought the bakery in late 2019 and has been mixing, proofing, and baking ever since.
At the heart of Annie’s Breads is Matthew’s commitmentment to simplicity and authenticity. Forgoing preservatives and unnecessary additives, Matthew strives to provide a healthier, more delicious option compared to many big bread brands. There is an unpredictability in his craft, with subtle variations in the bread’s final form that arise from day-to-day environmental conditions. “I love baking on rainy days because my bread just looks beautiful!”
The current lineup for Annie’s Breads is a multi-seed bread, honey wheat, honey oat, and sunflower bread, which can be found in Columbia area grocery stores. Additionally, Annie’s Breads fulfills the bread needs of Dandylion Café, which is also where you can find Annie’s delicious cinnamon rolls.
